No help here. I can't even make them walk or anything, they just crumple up and start spasming.

I'll try to help. I posted some tackles a few forums ago and was hoping people would get interested. Here's what I was able to do.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dhdlN5sfXJk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vFygS...eature=related And here's the same advice I gave Backbreakeristhegame. Hope it helps. Haven't touched it in a while. Cool, thanks and no problem. The 5 things I did to make it look real was: Use animation to get the guys running. Transition from there into a behavior and make sure there is a simulation event between the animation and the behavior. I like to use "stagger" once the guy gets hit and "body foetal" once he knows he's going down. No transitions necessary between the behaviors. String them together and to have the tackler grab on use the "reach and hold" behavior. Finally, when using the tackle behavior the first "targetUpSpine" is where on the "dummy" you want to drive your head. The second, "targetpelvis", is where you want to drive your hips. If you need any other tips let me know. I'm new to this. I'll probably start posting in the NaturalMotion forum soon. Enjoy the gang tackles. tried to duplicate what you were saying and I think one of two things may be happening. First, you may not be targeting correctly. The tackle behavior has the targetUpSpine- you click on the behavior, and you get the property page on the right. Then, press the "select" button on the "targetupspine" and then select the "tackling dummy", like his chest or hips. if you just dive head first- The other thing that may be causing it is the length of time for the tackle. My experience seems to be that they set the length of time too short so it runs through before the player can "act it out". Hope it helps and good luck. I would love to see what you come up with. |

Sakraf17,
On the NaturalMotion website is a Learning Edition of an animation tool that uses much of the same stuff that is used in the game- to a degree. It is a "relatively" simple to use animation editor where you line up a bunch of behaviors, positions, and forces and then play it. A subtle change of force or timing shows a significant change in behavior. You can then save your creation as an Avi file to post on youtube. It's a lot of fun once you get the hang of it.
